Disclosure: Suma makes one of the options on this list.
How we chose
We set the method before we wrote an entry, and we apply it to Suma the same way as everyone else. It is the method of our guide to 14 accounting options.
- Criteria. Fit for a Hong Kong SME; what kind of tool it is (ledger software or an outsourced service); what the vendor says its AI does; whether a price is published; and Hong Kong specific support, stated only where the vendor's own page says so.
- Where the facts come from. One page per vendor, from its own public pages, opened and checked on 28 October 2026, linked in the entry and in the Sources list. The AI features are what that page says the AI does, in its own terms. Where a price is not public we say so; we never estimate a price and never convert a currency.
- How the list is ordered. Grouped by type, and alphabetical within each group. There is no numeric rank: no option is placed above another.

Suma
- What it is
- A business app built around your workflow, with the books kept automatically. Suma makes this guide.

- Who it suits
- Clinics, tutoring centres and F&B businesses whose work does not fit a standard package, and whose owners are happy to start with a short call.
- Not designed for
- Clinical notes or EMR; keep those in your practice system. It is also not ready-made software you can set up yourself today: the app is built after a call.
- Published price
- Setup: From HK$2,500, one time. Monthly: From HK$1,500 a month. You use the finished app free for 14 days before you pay, and your exact price is agreed on a short call before we build. Review, audit and statutory filing go through our partner CPA firm, W. M. Sum & Co., quoted separately. Currency as published: Hong Kong dollars (HKD).
- Hong Kong specifics
- Built in Hong Kong for Hong Kong companies; our AI accounting page explains what the AI does and does not do.

Keeping this list current

FAQ
How did you choose the software on this list?
We named the options that Hong Kong SMEs most often compare when they look for accounting with AI, read each one on its own vendor page on 28 October 2026, and grouped them by type. Within each group the order is A to Z, so the list is not a ranking.
Which AI accounting software suits a clinic in Hong Kong?
None of the ledger software above is clinic software: appointments and notes stay in a practice system, and our list of 14 accounting options covers those. A clinic whose packages and receipts must agree with the books may want an app built around that flow, which is what Suma builds.
Is Suma on its own list, and is it placed first?
Yes, Suma is on the list, and the disclosure at the top says so. It is not placed first: it sits in its own group, and every entry, Suma included, is described from its own public page by the same method.
Why are some prices in US or Singapore dollars?
We quote each price in the currency its page showed us. Xero prices its Hong Kong plans in USD and AI Account prices in SGD, so we print those figures as published and never convert them into HKD.
